On arrival
When you arrive at the “woolshed” we will be there to welcome you with coffee and hot savouries. The shoot captain, either John Wells or Greg Vercoe, will give you a quick rundown of the requirements, transport and general shooting information. John or greg will issue safety instruction to all the helpers and guns.

Underway
Before leaving you draw your pegs for the first drive However a factor that has made the shoot different to most UK experiences is that we are able to guarantee shooting on every drive for all 8 guns, often pegs 1 and 8 will have shooting equal to or better than the middle pegs.
Your transport will take you to the heart of this fantastic property where you will be dropped off at you allocated peg.

 ..tea or coffee?
|
Morning tea in the Field, “Smoko” in New Zealand terminology
Liz Well’s reputation for plunger coffee, tea, her famous egg sandwiches, chocolate slice and fruit cake is legendary—Liz says that, “It’s the little things that make the difference”.
Smoko is a time for the shoot captain, the game keeper and the guns to have an up-date on progress.

 ..how are we going?
|
Lunch
After the fourth drive it is back to the “woolshed” where lunch with suitable beverages is provided. A delightful array of dishes are served including such delicacies as roast pork, ham on the bone and fillet of beef and accompanied by roast vegetables and followed by desserts.
It is a time for beaters guns and helpers to relax and prepare for the afternoon’s shooting.
|

|
Afternoon drives
The afternoon drives usually included the big open valleys such as Khyber pass, John’s Gully, and No Name. Here is where the sky will be black with wild high fast flying birds that offer a real challenge.

|
Conclusion
All too soon the bag will be reached, and the drives concluded and it is back to the woolshed. This is a nice time for the guns, guests, beaters and all to mix with stories of the day, argue about who shot the white pheasant that will cost the gun a bottle of single malt Scotch for the keeper, and enjoy a general replay of events. The great shots, the unbelievable misses, the brilliant dog work and the dedication of all the helpers involved.
By arrangement for special occasions a formal dinner can be provided in the evening for guns and partners. (see pricelist)
